Hexxagon was a very popular PC game released in 1993 by Argo Games, as a hexagonal variant of the game Ataxx. It had a notoriously difficult-to-beat AI - I'm not sure mine works in *exactly* the same way, but hard mode is pretty difficult to win against... ;)
